Volunteer

AMT Day Camp is 100% volunteer organized and directed. Many people comprise our volunteer staff - camper parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, and people in the community who just want to make a difference in the lives of young people. Here are some of the jobs that volunteers fill.

UNIT LEADERS –

  • Daisy units (girls entering grade 1 in the fall )
  • Brownie units (girls entering grades 2 – 3 in the fall)
  • Junior units (grades 4 – 6 in the fall)
  • PAIT unit (grade 7 in the fall)
  • Pixies/Widgets units (ages 3 – 5 in the fall)
  • Boys (grades 1 – 7 in the fall

HOW TO VOLUNTEER –

To keep campers safe, all volunteers working with campers must register with Girl Scouts and go through an application and screening process. To volunteer for camp, please complete the volunteer registration. If you have not registered with Girl Scouts for the current membership year, you will be asked to complete the Girl Scout registration and pay a $25 registration fee. If this is the case, someone will contact you. For more information or questions, please contact us.

*** Registration and any Girl Scout trainings will need to be completed by June 1st

VOLUNTEER TRAINING –

Please keep your eyes open for an email to introduce you to your other unit leader and PAs. Then please talk with them about camp, theme, planning, set up and anything else you or your PA’s feel you should discuss. Plan for set up day- arrival time and who is bringing what items. Date - May 21st. Calvary Lutheran Church 937 NE Jackson School Road light dinner / snacks / drinks provided.

CAMP SET-UP –

In the past AMT Day Camp has offered a separate "outdoor" training. This year we will incorporate it into the "set-up" day. Set-up day gives you a chance to meet with your unit co-leader, get your camp site set up, take a camp tour, chat with the directors, tie up loose ends, and most importantly get ready for the girls. Set up day will be Saturday June 22nd, 2024

We understand first time volunteers can feel overwhelmed. Please don’t be! We think you will find this to be an amazing week with lots of support and fun! Your presence helps make a lifelong memory for the girls.
