Sack lunch, no sweet drinks (water bottle provided and bees like sugar).

Back pack.

Jacket or raincoat if weather is cool or rainy - it is usually 5 - 10 degrees cooler at Mountaindale than in town.

Note: if you wear or bring sunscreen or bug spray, it should be unscented. We have people at camp with asthma and scent allergies.

WHAT TO WEAR TO CAMP –

Camp Shirt - On the first day of camp you will receive your camp T-shirt. You MUST wear it every day so that we know you are a part of the AMT Day Camp.

Long Pants or Shorts - There is poison oak and stinging nettle in the woods, so you may want to wear long pants. On hot days, light weight cotton pants will help keep you cool and prevent sunburn. If you choose, you may wear shorts, must be fingertip length when arms are down at sides.

Be advised wear at your own risk.

Sturdy, Closed-Toed and Closed Heel Shoes and Socks - If you do not wear proper shoes, you cannot participate in camp. Parent/guardian will be called to provide shoes. It's always a good idea to wear ankle-length socks when you are hiking in the woods. Besides keeping your feet comfy in your shoes, socks will help keep you from getting ticks and/or mosquito bites.

Jacket / Sweatshirt and Raingear (if rainy) - Even when the days are warm, the early mornings at camp can be cool. Make sure your name is in your jacket or sweatshirt. While we hope for dry, sunny weather for camp, sometimes we have a few sprinkles. If it looks like it will rain during the day, please wear your raincoat and water resistant shoes or boots.

MEDICATION FROM HOME –

If your camper requires medication from home, please make sure to complete the Day Camp Medication Permission form and send it with your child. Medication should be in the original packaging. Your child should bring a week's worth of medication to be stored with the health supervisor and returned to camper on Friday.

RAINBOW –

We are thrilled be using an updated curriculum again year for Rainbow, we are adding and changing it all the time!

The Rainbow Program teaches outdoor and camping skills in an age appropriate, progressive manner. Every camper starts off with a Rainbow patch, and learns and demonstrates skills to earn a colored segment. Each year, campers will be given the opportunity to earn the next color segment as they build their skills. Campers learn about fires, outdoor cooking, knot tying, hiking, first aide, and camping, all in a fun and supportive environment. Rainbow director's Email: Rainbow@amtdaycamp.com.

BADGES –

We have been considered a badge camp but since the recent restructuring of the program in scouts, we are very limited in the badges available. This being the case, we may not offer earned badges going forward. We will still be giving out AMT camp patches & rainbow segments for the back of the vests.
